Just watched the new sp. ed. laserdisc last night . . . In a word,
"PHAN-OMENAL"!! Thanks to the whole team: from "Phantasm" cast and
crew to the great folks at Image Entertainment. This is one to be
treasured and I'm glad I have a copy for my personal collection.
Phans, if you don't own a laserdisc player, this boxed set is the best
reason to get one (really!).
By the way, just paid a visit to the Universal Pictures web site and
dropped a hint in their guestbook for their involvement in backing
"Phantasm IV". Visit their site, phans, and do the same (www.mca.com
or email cyber@mca.com). I really wanna see this next picture soon,
before the Tall Man comes looking for ME.

I enjoyed the originality of the first film. I strongly encourage Don
Coscarelli to not be afraid to use his imagination in moving the story forward.
I think Angus is great, met him in New York August 28, 1995. Give a call sometime.

AWESOME, AWESOME, INCREDIBLE LASERDISC!!!!! The Tall Man will be happy to know that I have now made all my friends and my parents nuts (just prepping them for you) telling them everything from the audio commentary. I am extremely thrilled with the fun of "sitting in" on our Phantasm friends watching the movie. It was just great to hear the memories and get the information that this audio commentary provided. It gave me even more of a closeness to the characters that will make seeing the movie different from now on. Also it was great to see Angus reciting his "five" lines from the first movie at the Fangoria convention. Of course, my favorite has always been the "BOY!!" at the very end. I also was very glad to see the various movie posters for the first "Phantasm." It was interesting to see how they varied country to country. I think the Japanese one wound up being my favorite. Once again GREAT laserdisc and thank you for providing us diehard fans with this intimate look. I can assure you a ton of stuff from the crypt collectable will be on my list this year.

I love the Phantasm films. The first is still the best and always
will be, but the third was awesome too. Reggie is one bad-a** dude.
Young Mike in the first is a classic dude. I love the movie so much
(The first) that I typed out the dialogue of the entire first movie.
(Just the words and grunts, etc.) I also bought a copie of the limited
edition signed Phantasm laserdisc, 2500 copies. And I've got one!
Cool. I first saw the movie in about 1979-1980 when it came on HBO
and I was only about 12-13 years old (Mike's age in the movie- how
appropriate.) Mike was a spunky street smart kid you wouldn't want
to mess with.
Also, a note of interest to Phantasm fans. You know the scene
in the first movie where the Tall Man is walking down Main Street,
and Mike is sucking on a lollipop checking payphones for money?
(Of course you do! Duh!) Anyway, the real location of this street
is in a small town called Julian in the mountains just east of San
Diego, (about 40-50 minutes from where I live.) And get this. The
name of street in real life is "Main Street"! Yeah, cool.
How did I find this out? Strangely, I simply recognized a sign
behind the Tall Man as he walked by it. The sign read "Julian Mines"
or something like that, with an address. And I thought, "Hell, I've
been there!" I verified it in the phone book also. Yep, it was
there. No sign of the Tall Man though. I haven't been back for a
while, but next time I go, I will look to see if the Reggie's ice
cream building is there. Maybe.
"Oh damn look. I know you're not going to believe me, but these
were here, right in the garage, and they were going to get me!"
BOYYYYYYY!
P.S. My brother met Reggie Bannister and has a model Silver Sphere and
black '70 Hemicuda model signed by him. Lucky stiff!
I built my own '71 Hemicuda model but it's not signed by anyone.
Bummer! I even made the same license plates from the first movie and
put them on the model - 9GR 635 Oregon plates. How's that?
Yeah I know, I need a life. But hey, I'm having fun!
Awesome Phantasm Web Site. Glad I found it.#FFORM

I loved the original and the first sequel (that ending shocked the heck
out us when Le Gros and Irvine were yanked through that window) but I
felt the third film had too much humor in it. I think horror films
should stop being humorous (here, especially because the content is
already outlandish enough.) since it makes the film too comical and the
characters end up looking buffoonish and non-threatening.

I'd like to see The Tall Man become more of a speaking role for Angus,
as he has a splendid speaking voice (bear in mind, I have not yet
seen Phantasm III, so I don't know if this suggestion has already been
put into effect). He radiates real class: a rarity these days, and his
on-screen moments are pure delight to me.

First of all, "Phantasm" and "Phantasm II" are the only horror
movies I bother to have in tape.
As an avid funeral car fan, I'd really like to see some shots

The Phantasm Trilogy holds a special place in my heart second only to
the Star Wars Trilogy and the immortal classic Strange Brew. The
Tall Man is awsome, but Darth could still take him. I would really
like to see some sort of Phantasm cross-over with maby Predator or
Batmen. Call me crazy, but I think one of these cross-overs would
cool. Thanks for this cool web page. It kicks the proverbial donky!

The first phantasm kicked ass because it was super original and combined
sci-fi and horror. Just saw phantasm 3 and was glad to see the original
cast members, unlike phantasm2. Can't wait until phantasm4, please have
more hot babes in the next movie because in phantasm3 you did not have
any hot mamas at all. Stick with the formula from the first movie, hot
babes, midgets, cool cars, guns, dang i bet howard stern digs the

special edition form, any plans to release it on VHS? I like to see
the delted scenes. Are there deleted scenes from II or III that did
not make the theatrical release, and if there are, are there plans to release them on
video? If I remember II had some blood scenes deleted(the priest). Thanks

I really enjoyed seeing Mike Baldwin & Bill Thornbury return for Phantasm 3.
I did not really like the boy in the movie though.
I would really like to have the song from the first film "Sittin here at midnight???" I was hoping it would have been on the Phantasm 1 & 2 CD that was recently released.
I would very much like to see the Phantasm films continue. However, I would enjoy seeing the stories improve. My favorite
film is the original Phantasm. I like the second one a lot also. James Le Gros did a very good job as Mike, but I would
rather have seen Baldwin & Thornbury in the second film.
Of course, Reggie and the Tall Man are always excellent!
I would love to have all the movies on VHS in a letterbox format.
What happened to Liz?

Two nights ago, I had stayed up FAR past my bedtime. I had to work early the next morning. Channel surfing, I fell upon the intro to "Phastasm 3" on Showtime. I FREAKED! I own the P1 and P2 videos, but I had no idea Phantasm 3 ever existed! As soon as the opening credits began to roll, I know I'd not get much sleep that night!
I didn't like Phantasm 2 a whole lot, though I estimate I've seen Phantasm 1 over 100 times in the past 16 years. It remains one of my favorite films. I gave Phantasm 3 a chance, and was hooked immediately! EVERYTHING about Phantasm 3 was SUPERB! Angus had a lot more speaking parts, and Reggie, as usual, was tremendous.
My VCR is already set to record it tomorrow night. To anyone who comes close to Mr. Coscarelli, tell him he's got a TRULY satisfied fan in Twangtown, TN!
PS: I wonder if Reggie is still stuck in the corner?

I'm glad to hear that someone has finally decided that there should be a novelization of _Phantasm_. I saw it mentioned in the coming attractions for this site. Does anyone know who has written the forthcoming downloadable novelization? Has it been finished yet? Is the Tall Man enlisting any writers?
I'm usually not one for novelizations of movies, but I think they can be written successfully, and be much more than a mess of poor prose. One good example, in my opinion, is Dennis Etchison's work on _Halloween II_ and _Halloween III_. Another one that comes to mind is George Romero & Susanna Sparrow.
Some fresh talent might be a good idea in the way of an author, but I hope that the writer has some sense of the legacy of the sort of cosmic horror PHANTASM conjures up. While PHANTASM is much more liberated than say H. P. Lovecraft, the surreal aspects of Coscarelli's movie really do make me think of Lovecraft's weird fiction.
The PHANTASM novelization is long overdue. I found myself wishing, after being hooked on the first film, that there was one written c. 1980. I hope that the task will be tackled soon, and that the author is capable of capturing the ambience of PHANTASM in prose form!
P.S.: The PHANTASM soundtrack on CD (Silva Screen label) just entered my collection; I've been waiting a long time for it--and I'm enjoying the hallucinogenic sounds more than ever.
The atmosphere of PHANTASM is with me constantly, since I live very close to Chatsworth, where parts of PHANTASM were shot. -Perry M. Grayson, Publisher--Tsathoggua Press

I saw Phantasm for the first time when I was 13. My father brought it home
with a hodge podge collection of used videos he bought from a friend he
worked with. It blew me away. I still regard it as my fav horror flick. I guess
what really made me dig it so much was the fact that I could identify
with the main character. We were the same age were to curious for our own good.
I must have seen that movie at least 15 times that summer. I watched it again
recently with my wife and she loved it. How about that!?! Anyway, I'm one of
those strange few that can appreciate this goofy movie (and this Web site).
